Sandleheath Neighbourhood Development Plan – Regulation 16 Consultation and Examination Update

Following the introduction of Sections 98 and 99 of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Act 2023 on 25 March 2026, the examiner for the Sandleheath Neighbourhood Development Plan, Mr Andrew Ashcroft, has advised that the Regulation 16 consultation should now be re‑run to allow consultation on an addendum to the Basic Conditions Statement addressing these new requirements.

In line with the examiner’s proposal, and New Forest District Council’s Statement of Community Involvement, the Regulation 16 consultation will be re‑run for a minimum period of 6 weeks. This will provide an opportunity for representations to be made on the updated information accompanying the plan.
Details of the consultation period and the relevant documents will be published on this page in due course.

Our small but pretty village is a short distance to the west of the town of Fordingbridge and lies between the New Forest and Cranborne Chase AONB. Fortunate to have an area of common land at its centre, Sandleheath is a mixture of older traditional buildings and limited modern development. Although many of its inhabitants now work in the nearby cities of Salisbury, Southampton and Bournemouth, the village maintains a community based rural feel and is an attractive place to live and bring up children.

If you have any ideas for the village, including cultural, environmental or infrastructure improvements- let us know!

                                                                   PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS

All meetings usually commence at 7.30pm and are held in the Sandleheath Village Hall, unless otherwise stated.  Members of the public are most welcome to attend these meetings and to also raise any concerns that they may have.  However, it would help the Parish Council to provide a more balanced and considered response to any query, if any person wishing to raising a concern beforehand, informs the Parish Clerk in advance of the meeting.

Please send your email to clerk@sandleheathparish.co.uk.  Thank you.
