Sea Scouts

Sandleheath Sea Scouts are a successful Scout group based located in a purpose-built Scout hall in Sandleheath.  The Group have a Beaver Colony (for young people aged between six and eight years old), a Cub Pack (for young people aged between eight and 10 and a half), a Scout Group (for young people aged between 10 ½ to 14), and an Explorer Unit (with a age range between 14 to 18).  As a Sea Scout troop, the group use Spinnaker Lakes (near to Ringwood), between April and October to enable the young people to participate in a range of water activities: sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rowing and paddle-boarding.  During the winter months the Group then reverts back to more traditional Scouting activities, such as Camping and Hiking.  Many of the Explorer Scouts have completed their Duke of Edinburgh Awards through the Group, which is very encouraging indeed.

The Group generally use the hall during the evenings for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer sessions.  It is also the base for the local Guide group, daytime exercise classes, Fordingbridge Toy Library and U3A also play table tennis at the hall, twice a month. The hall has excellent hire facilities and it can be booked for private parties during the day and or at the weekends.
